Dolphin Encounter
The Hotel's 26,000 square feet natural lagoon is home to four Atlantic
Bottlenose dolphins named Hoku, Liho, Hi'iaka and Mahina. In addition,
you'll find tropical fish, rare Hawaii Green Sea turtles, and a waterfall.
The Dolphin Quest trainers offer daily Dolphin Encounters for children 5 -
12 years old, and 13 years and older. Guests get into the water with the
dolphins for an up-close encounter, and a supervised swim.

The Dolphin Quest program at
Kahala Mandarin Oriental, Hawaii educates hotel guests, participants
and the general public about these incredible animals, while having
fun and experiencing up close what makes these mammals so unique.
Participation in these programs helps protect wild dolphins and
whales. Dolphin Quest, Inc. donates a portion of the fees from
interactions to organizations in support of marine education,
conservation & research.
Adult Dolphin Encounter
$115* tax inclusive, 2:00 pm daily.
Must be 13 years old and above.
After a shallow water encounter, participants will enter the larger
Kahala Dolphin Lagoon with one or more Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins to view
these amazing animals in their domain. This program is a supervised
encounter and guests will be escorted by the trainer into their habitat.
Dolphin Quest recommends that all guests participating to check-in and be
ready 15-minutes prior to each program. Any non-hotel guests are requested
to arrive at least 30-minutes prior to their scheduled time. (Non-hotel
guests may only confirm reservations 48-hours in advance of requested
scheduled time). Reservations may be canceled 24-hours prior to scheduled
time without charge. Any cancellations received within 24-hours will be
assessed a full charge for the program reserved per person.
For the benefit of the Dolphins, Dolphin Quest reserves the right to
cancel or reschedule the above programs at anytime. Program times and rates
are subject to change.
Kid’s Quest For Knowledge (The Quest)
$150* tax inclusive, 9:30 am daily.
Must be 5 to 12-years old only.
This 2-hour program offers an array of activities with education as the
focal point. The dolphin portion of the program offers each child an
opportunity to interact with these amazing animals.
